    SHEPPARTON – An old colonist in the person of Mr Benjamin Blight died at Pine Lodge on Sunday. Deceased came to Victoria in 1857 and for many years resided in Kyneton district. He lived at Pine Lodge for the past 23 years, and was engaged in farming.

    Hi, Benjamin blight is my great great grandfather, do you have any more information about him and his family, parents, siblings etc

    • As it says in the other comment, his parents were William and Charity Blight née Jury. They married in Buckland Brewer in 1821. They lived at a farm outside the village called Little Braddons and later in the village. William died in 1845, he was an agricultural labourer. Other children baptised in Buckland Brewer were Ann 1831, James 1833, George 1836. There may have been others in nearby parishes.
