Buckland Wills

Before 1858 the wills of residents of Buckland Brewer might have been proved in any one of several probate courts. Sadly the records of many of these were destroyed in the Second World War. More than 600 of these have been listed by the Devon Wills Project. The following wills are held at The National Archives and copies can be downloaded from their website for a small fee. Those from class PROB 11 are available on Ancestry. We hold copies of all those from PROB 11 and can pass on general details from these.

i think you will find that the two William Hockmore men quoted are from Buckland Baron (now Buckland Barton) near Newton Abbot not Buckland Brewer. Why do I know? I live in their house and am writing its history.
