The History of our Parish and its People
Buckland Brewer History Group was launched in September 2013. The aim of the Group is to inspire the community of Buckland Brewer and those with a love of Buckland Brewer, to take pride in and ownership of, their history and heritage in all forms. We provide opportunities for the community to explore the history of our parish through:-
* Supported research
* Newsletters – a list of the contents of past newsletters can be found here.
Those who have ancestral connections to Buckland Brewer and other non-residents with an interest in the history of the parish are also encouraged to join us. They will receive the newsletter, have the opportunity to use our databases for research and may take part in our projects. For more information about our aims and objectives, see our Constitution.
We aim to collaborate with other village organisations in order to bring history to the wider community. Details of our joint projects can be found here.
There is a discussion forum for queries and comments about the history of Buckland Brewer at Genealogywise. Buckland Brewer is registered with The Society for One-Place Studies and the Register of One-Place Studies. We are also members of the Community Archives and Heritage Group and the British Association for Local History.
